PhD candidate from Morocco

Fatima-Ezzahra Ait Mohand a PhD candidate from Morocco in Prof Kravchenko-Balasha’s lab, received the Dexcel Award 2026 for research excellence (PhD category) at the 2026 Faculty of Dental Medicine Research Day.

She also placed 3rd at the Falling Walls Lab GIF-ScienceAbroad Israel 2026 pitch competition, judged by a panel including Nobel Laureate Prof. Aaron Ciechanover, for her pitch "Breaking the Wall of Glioblastoma Resistance."

Both honours recognize her doctoral research on intercellular communication in glioblastoma". The competition award was online.

The international program has received the prestigious award of being the best international program at the Hebrew University. This is the first time such an award is granted.
